Give your thoughts a holiday from judgement. Go on a mental detox and set aside limiting beliefs. Stretch your mind. Extend the space between thoughts.

This, more than any asana, is yoga. If asana is a tool used to set the spirit free, then it works. But if asana becomes a box that traps the mind, then it’s time to refresh it completely.

The best test I’ve found for whether yoga is working is how you feel inside. If there’s more happiness and joy, then yoga is working. If not, well, keep practicing and consider making some changes in how you practice.

Queen of fruits 👑 🍑 🍈

If you know me then this is no surprise. But what you might wonder is what’s actually behind these melons. That’s something only @timfeldmannyoga knows for sure 💕

For me, there is no more perfect food than fruit and maybe also some nuts. I could almost be fruitarian. I will try every fruits and the only one I’m not crazy about are apples, which I know most people like.

And yes, these melons were extraordinarily sweet and juicy in case you were curious 😊

I’ve been practicing yoga since college, but does that alone make me a successful yogi? Do the cool poses you can do make your yoga practice successful? Also, no. Success in the yoga practice is not judged by external metrics like aesthetic performance.

Practice is different than performance. A performance entertains; a practice is done for you and you alone. Your yoga practice is meant to help you become a better human being. You’d be surprised at the changes you’ll see in yourself through practice.

How you judge your success is also how you can judge your failures. Remember that a practice isn’t perfect, it means you’re practicing. Just because you’re not the epitome of successful yoga practice, that doesn’t mean you’re a failure either.

What truly defines a successful yoga practice is dedicating yourself to learning more, not just doing more. It’s remembering and honoring the fact that yoga practice isn’t purely physical. It’s also a spiritual journey.
